Australian Web Hosting
Every website needs a hosting account.
Web hosting is the physical place where your website (or other web technology) is stored and displayed to the world, around the clock, every day.
We pay attention to our client's needs. For example, we routinely review our client's web sites to identify potential improvements (and sometimes - if authorised - we even make those changes at no charge). We pursue win-wins, because when you do well, so do we. We believe our loyalty, security and service to you will ensure your loyalty and referral to others.
It's an old fashioned service model, but we're following it.
We host websites owned by a broad variety of organisations and people, including wholesaler Aqua Premium (the leading Aquarium Industry Wholesale Company) and construction success story Curtis Construction. Not sure how hosting works? Here's a simple analogy:
When choosing a web host provider, look for the same things you would look for in a train trip:
- The seat - you want enough space to be comfortable [How much space will you have on the server? Does the technology suit your website or application? How much will that cost?]
- The destination - how many kilometres are you going to cover? [How many megabytes are you going to use? Make sure you sign up for a plan that gives you sufficient downloads to cover your needs.] If you stay on a train more than your ticket says, look out! The penalties bite. [Exceed your download permissions and the overage charges could hurt too!]
- The crowd - a crowd is annoying on a train, especially when lots of people are getting on and off; the train is slowed and you will be too. You might find your trip slow and at times impossible [An overcrowded or overutilised server can create problems too]
- Speed - Ever watched a fast train fly by the one you are on? It makes you wonder why you didn't catch that one. [You want a server than can handle and deliver high transmission speeds].
- Security - Ever felt vulnerable on a lonely train late at night with no security guard to be seen? [Servers are attacked regularly. We were brought down once (in 2009) but have not been penetrated since. Our 2009 experience motivated us to invest in quality internationally rated security as well as equally competent security technicians.]
- Breakdown plans - If there is a problem, how quickly do they fix it? [No-one can deliver 100%. But 99.999% isn't too much to ask. How quickly can they recover and repair in case of a crash or issue? Do they have generator backups in case of regional outages? Do they have sufficient contingency and back-up plans in place?]
- Locality - Ever caught the wrong train? [Hosting overseas when your market is Australia is a really bad move (which is explained more below)]
